By publishing the script and photo report of the “Bee Kingdom” entertainment, I wanted to put an end to the materials on the “Where does honey come from” project. Indeed, a lot was done and shown, but the question after the publication of the entertainment script - “What was this interesting thing that you hung from the ceiling at the holiday?”, prompted me to publish another material on this topic, namely, to talk about crafts from disposable cups made by children during the project.

I would like to offer you, dear friends and guests of my page, a master class on a craft with the simple name “Bee”. The works turned out to be bright, cheerful and really interesting, and most importantly, their production gave the children great pleasure. The stripes on the “body” of the bees were made by me from ordinary black electrical tape, but the older guys, I’m sure, will be able to cope with this task on their own.

The master class will be of interest to teachers working with children of different age groups.

Purpose.

Interior decoration. For children's free activity.

Target.

Making bees from disposable glasses.

Tasks.

Develop children's spatial understanding, the ability to place sequins throughout a given space without sticking to each other

Develop interest and positive attitude towards constructive activities

Enrich children's sensory experiences

Material.

Yellow plastic cups, black electrical tape, brightly colored paper, sequins, plasticine, Kinder surprise cases, glue stick, scissors.

Work progress

We glue black electrical tape onto the disposable cup at a gap approximately equal to the width of the electrical tape.

Using plasticine, we attach a case from a Kinder surprise - a bee's head - to the top of the glass.

We make eyes, a mouth, and antennae from plasticine.

Cut out bee wings from brightly colored paper.

We decorate the wings with sequins using plasticine.

Now we glue the wings to the cup. The bee is ready.

In order to be able to hang the bees from the ceiling, we attach a brightly colored thread.

And now I want to show how my kids worked to create the craft, how much joy this work brought them.

How will a bee emerge from a bottle?

First of all, you should make sure that all the necessary materials are available:

  • plastic bottles;
  • yellow and black acrylic paints;
  • glue;
  • black electrical tape;
  • stationery knife;
  • small buttons;
  • tassels;
  • wire;
  • scissors.

To make a “real” bee from a plastic bottle, the instructions must be followed exactly:

  1. The first thing you will do is imitate the striped abdomen of a bee. If you have a yellow or black bottle, you will save time. Because in this case you just need to complete the missing stripes. Just wrap the yellow bottle with electrical tape. Transparent - you will have to first paint it yellow, and after the paint has dried completely, apply strips of electrical tape. Or do without tape and use only paints.
  1. Four wings are cut out from a transparent plastic bottle (it is better to draw them first). You will have to make slits on the top of your bee's body to attach the wings. To prevent them from flying off, glue them a little. Your wings will shine brighter in the sun if you use glitter nail polish.
  2. You can use a larger lid as a muzzle. Make the eyes from two small caps, and draw pupils on them either from dark plastic or black paint. The role of the proboscis will be played by a piece of black wire. Antennae and paws can also be made from it, for which you pierce the plastic with an awl and bend them using pliers.

This way you can make as many bees as you want - a whole hive.

If bees must fly over a flowerbed, they should be secured on a long stick holder, which must be inserted into a hole made specially for this purpose in the abdomen of the bee.

If they “live” on the branches of trees from the garden, you will have to make a special mount. The transparent fishing line must be threaded first into the lower and then the upper hole in the middle of the bottle, then threaded onto the branch.

You can make another craft, a beehive from a large bottle. Cut a square hole in it and paint it in three layers of yellow paint, no less.

Are you convinced that the most ordinary plastic bottles are quite suitable for crafts, and you can create a whole swarm of bees with your own hands?

How else can you create a bee yourself?

What could be more enjoyable for a child than doing something with their parents with their own hands? Such crafts often become the most favorite toys. As a material, you can use the simplest things that can be found in your home:

  • Paper

Papermaking for your child will not only be an enjoyable activity, but will also develop his imagination and fine motor skills.

Among sheets of multi-colored paper, select yellow, black and white, stock up on scissors, glue and thick thread, and don’t forget about a ruler and pencil. And get started (step by step instructions):

  1. Cut 3x21 cm strips from the yellow and black sheets.
  2. Fold them at a 90º angle to each other, black on top and yellow on the bottom.
  3. Carefully glue the ends of the strips together.
  4. Place the yellow one on top of the black one, again at a right angle, and iron the fold.
  5. Continue alternating the bends of the strips.
  6. Glue the ends.
  7. Iron the folds thoroughly again and stretch the paper accordion a little.
  8. Turn the workpiece over with the yellow side up, bend the last square diagonally and make a cut 5-7 mm long.
  9. Straighten the yellow square and bend the sting of the future bee. If you did everything correctly, the sting is yellow on top and black on the bottom.
  10. Cut out paired wings (oval or round) from yellow paper and attach them to the bee’s back.
  11. Draw black pupils on circles cut out of white paper and glue the finished eyes to the bee’s face.
  12. Fasten the thread to the back.

It turned out to be an excellent craft - a bee. Your little one can send a handmade toy flying.

More options

Or you can try to make another bee. A cylinder of thick yellow paper 12x9 cm will become the belly. You will help your baby glue it together.

Glue 1x13 cm strips of black paper onto the cylinder, leaving small equal spaces between them.

Cut out double wings from blue paper. It is better if the workpiece is solid. This makes it easier to glue it to the back.

The role of the head will be played by a circle of yellow cardboard 3 cm in diameter. Glue on it thin mustaches made of black paper, eyes made of white circles (diameter 5 mm) with drawn pupils. Cut out a perky fringe and a long sharp sting from black cardboard and attach it to the bee’s face with glue.

All that remains is to glue the head to the body. The bee will turn out to be perky, ready for adventure.

  • Kinder surprise container

This delicacy is familiar to every child. It's rare that a parent doesn't buy this chocolate egg for their baby. Although there is nothing more interesting than the surprise hidden in the yellow container inside the egg. And what gorgeous crafts you can make from these yellow Kinder boxes!

Here, for example, is the easiest way to make a bee from a Kinder surprise container for your child with your own hands:

  1. Wrap it with thick black thread several times.
  2. Use a marker to draw a face. The little artist will be happy to do it himself.
  3. Use an awl to pierce the back of the bee and pull a thread through the hole.

There are many different ways to create bees from a kinder surprise, and not only them.

You will have a fun and useful time spending an hour or two with your baby, creating fancy toys with your own hands. Rummage through the unnecessary little things at home. You will probably find something with which you can create in the same way as with plastic bottles and Kinder Surprise boxes.
