Thanks to its constituent substances, the serum has the ability to heal wounds: it can be used as a therapy after burns or after a skin allergic reaction, which suddenly became relevant for me: the serum perfectly alleviates the symptoms of skin irritation - dryness, itching and flaking. Transparent, light and gel-like in consistency, the product becomes a little sticky during absorption, but the cream or makeup base is applied on top just perfectly. For oily skin or in hot climates, the serum can be used as a stand-alone product, but it is worth remembering that the product does not contain sun protection, so with the arrival of spring it is better to supplement it with a cream with SPF. The skin felt comfortable throughout the day: there was no feeling of dryness or greasy shine. After just a few days of use, pores and fine lines and wrinkles became less noticeable. In my opinion, the product fully coped with its tasks.

Until recently, I perceived facial serums as something like anti-cellulite creams - their effect seemed more like self-hypnosis to me. The beauty editor decided to dissuade me and gave me three new products to test.

I started the experiment with the most interesting serum, Aromessence Rose d'Orient Serum Apaisant Decleor, which in appearance and smell did not resemble a serum at all, but rather like rose oil. In fact, it turned out that this was an aromatherapy product, and 100% at that. natural - based essential oils Damask rose and some other unpronounceable exotic plants indicated on the bottle. Following the instructions, I warmed two drops of the product in my palms and applied it to my face and neck, massaging the energy points. The texture is silky, non-greasy and instantly absorbed. Then it is recommended to apply day cream, but I didn’t. For allergic skin like mine, this serum replaced both cream and toner. Moreover, by the end of the day she remained hydrated and radiant, despite the cold outside, 10-hour meetings in the office, coffee and traffic jams. But the main thing that I liked is that the serum does not promise lifting of the eyelids and smoothing of the nasolabial lips, but only rest for the skin - what the doctor ordered, as they say.

Perhaps the effect of Aromessence Rose Decleor was also good because I had previously taken care of my skin with Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate. This product broke my ideas about serums in the first place. I was very skeptical: even if this is a serum that has been known for many years (an updated edition has been released), even though it’s expensive, even though it’s Lancome, it makes too many promises. Like, in 7 days, wrinkles will be smoothed out, as if in Photoshop, and the tone will become even, and in general the skin will cleanse and shine like a copper basin. I mentally imagined this thriller and grinned, but an experiment is an experiment. After a week of use, “Genific”, of course, did not erase the traces of my living facial expressions and did not take a dozen years off my shoulders, but the skin really was transformed: the pores were cleansed and narrowed, the surface became dense and soft. Let me emphasize once again - this is in 7 days of use! This means that we can expect other promised special effects. The serum also has a very convenient packaging, a bottle with a pipette that can be used to collect the required amount of product without touching it with your hands. The texture is liquid with a pleasant aroma and is absorbed instantly. Perhaps the only drawback of the serum is its price. But the result is worth it.

For dessert, I left the Caudalie Polyphenol Anti-wrinkle Defense Serum. I respect this brand very much for its eco-friendly position, so I only expected pleasant sensations from the product. Firstly, it is a 100% antioxidant (contains vitamin C), and secondly, the formula contains hyaluronic acid - interesting. I diligently applied the serum morning and evening to my face and neck for four days. Of course, this is an insignificant period for the wow effect of a baby’s face. But something else turned out: although the serum does not make such promises, the number of clogged pores has decreased, or rather, there are practically none left. Apparently this has refreshed my complexion and made my skin smoother. The serum absorbs quickly, so I applied it right before bed. In the morning there was no swelling. In a word, I was very inspired by the product, perhaps I’ll even replace my everyday cream with micellar water with it - the result from the serum is better than from both of them.

In my opinion, serum is just the “cherry on the cake” of daily care. Yes, on the one hand, it is quite possible to do without it. But on the other hand, in combination with a day cream, it can work real miracles on your skin. So, let's start with the first product I received for testing - Dolce&Gabbana Aurealux Serum. I won’t spend too much time describing the moisturizing properties of this product; they have no complaints, and I really didn’t feel dry throughout the day. Even if we take into account that just at this time, due to the drop in temperature outside the window, the heating in the editorial office was turned on almost to maximum and, as a result, the air in the room was incredibly dry. I wanted to dwell in more detail on the process of applying the serum itself. First of all, it is very light, not too liquid in texture, which is definitely a plus. It is absorbed literally instantly, and then an absolutely incredible effect occurs - the skin becomes like velvet. I'm not exaggerating. It's like you're touching something very nice soft cloth. By the way, on the subject of spoilers. If you are unbearable and want to find out in advance what kind of outlandish effect this is, then just touch the bottle of Dolce&Gabbana Aurealux Serum itself and you will understand everything (I don’t know what it’s made of, but you just don’t want to let go of this bottle).

Unlike the previous product, the serum from the Korres brand can also be applied to the skin around the eyes. Wild rose brightening & line-smoothing face and eye serum is also ok with moisturizing. But this product also has little surprise for you: after application, wait literally half a minute, after which you will feel as if the skin on your face has just been wiped with a refreshing tonic with aloe (by the way, as I later found out, this component is actually contained in its composition). This effect lasts no more than a minute, but gives an incredible surge of freshness, as if you had washed your face with pleasant cool water once again.

After two previous experiences, I no longer expected any special effects from Yves Rocher Serum Vegetal. And how in vain it turned out! After the first use, I appreciated that my skin really felt good, there was no feeling of tightness or dehydration. But when I used it for several days in a row (morning and evening), I simply did not recognize my skin. It was as if she had become of a completely different quality. Perhaps I won’t resort to trivial comparisons with the Photoshop effect and other tools of graphic editors. But I can say with confidence that for such a product I would be willing to pay much more than its current cost (about 1000 rubles).

On the eve of spring, I usually rethink my home care routine, changing the nourishing cream to a product with a lighter texture. In this matter, there is not and cannot be a better alternative than facial serum. When choosing the first product for editorial testing, I cheated a little, choosing a product from my beloved Vichy brand. Idealia Life Serum has already appeared in my beauty arsenal: I used it with pleasure all last summer. First of all, what captivates me about it is its almost weightless, melting texture, which does not leave a feeling of tightness on my face. Another important factor is the subtle fruity-floral aroma with which I start and end my day. It is impossible not to note the visible effects of use - smooth, as if illuminated from the inside skin, which does not need additional special effects such as a thick layer foundation and mattifying powder. I will definitely put off the Vichy serum until the first days of spring arrive.

The second product was a serum from my second favorite - the Darphin brand. The brand is famous for its ingenious skincare products - I love their oils, creams or serums. Darphin Exquisage Serum is designed to revive the driest and dullest skin - a more than tempting prospect, given the lack of sun in our area. I used the serum for a week, and this period was enough to notice changes: my face began to look more rested, my tone became more even, and my skin was smoother and silkier. In the mornings I like to mix my new find with a drop foundation- the result exceeds all expectations!

I used the serum every day, and to my surprise, after just a week I stopped seeing the hated nasolabial folds in the mirror, and my skin became firmer and tighter. I was very pleased with the pleasant smell of pomegranate and the minimal consumption. Overall, I was very pleased. I’m even thinking of replacing my usual care routine with this amazing natural remedy.

For the second product, Nuxe Merveillance expert, I decided to complicate the task and gave it to my mother for a test. It seems to me that only on mature skin can you objectively evaluate the effect of a powerful anti-aging serum. My mom's entire life-care routine has consisted of a regular face moisturizer and a gel eye roller, but she was excited to try out the new product and was very pleased: “Instantly absorbed thanks to its light, cream-like texture, the serum immediately gets to work - reducing existing wrinkles and preventing the appearance of new ones.
