Knitting things is a lot of fun, and knitting them for your children is doubly enjoyable. You can make a sweater for a boy with knitting needles different ways. A beautiful pullover with an open neck or a light sweater knitted with raglan on top is suitable for a child. Today, cardigan, half-over and turtleneck are the most popular items that can be easily knitted. You can also make a striped children's jumper. The sweatshirt may be different. There are many ideas, so why not implement at least one of them?

Knitting things is a lot of fun, and knitting them for your children is doubly enjoyable

Knitting something for a teenager is not as easy as for little children, because their sizes are more universal. Boys at 3 years old have almost the same body parameters, so this scheme is definitely suitable.

Boys at 3 years old have almost the same body parameters

Description of work:

  1. For a 3-year-old child, it is better to choose medium-weight yarn. At the first stage, it is necessary to calculate the number of loops that must be cast on. The back and front are knitted so that the total girth is 74 cm. That is, we knit the back from 37 stitches.
  2. You need to knit 3 cm of elastic (as shown in the diagram). There is no need to make the elastic band too wide. For beginning craftsmen, it is better to choose a simpler pattern, for example, you can alternate the front row with the back row.
  3. When approximately 53 cm of the product is knitted, you can make the armhole of the product. To do this, several loops need to be removed by knitting them together. You should not decrease them in each row, as the shoulder slope will form too large and the sweater will be uncomfortable to wear.
  4. The second piece to work on is the front. The number of stitches for casting on is the same, namely 37. Knitting is similar, but a collar must be made. 6 cm before the end of knitting you need to round the neck, reducing the number of loops from the center.
  5. Next the sleeves are knitted. Knitting begins with the front elastic band, and then the number of loops is increased using the extreme yarn over method. It is necessary to increase the number of loops in every 4 rows.

Then the sleeves are sewn to other blanks along the armhole seam.

DIY jumper for a teenager: knitting for beginners

A teenage jumper should be knitted from threads of medium or thin density, since thick yarn is suitable for children's products.

A teenage jumper should be knitted from threads of medium or thin density

So, the scheme of work:

  1. This product is knitted in separate elements, which will then be stitched together. The first element is the back.
  2. Measurements are taken from the teenager, then a sample is knitted. This is done to determine the number of loops.
  3. You need to make an elastic band so that the jumper fits well on the teenager. The elastic band can be replaced by a strip knitted using a scarf method. Its size is 5-8 cm.
  4. Next comes knitting with an elastic band 2 by 2. When the back is knitted to the armholes, you need to make a shoulder bevel. To do this, the outer loops are knitted together over several rows.
  5. The second piece is the front of the jumper. Knitted in the same way as the back.
  6. Next, the sleeves are made. The loops for knitting each sleeve are picked up from the shoulder seam.
  7. A garter stitch placket is made at the ends of each sleeve.
  8. The last element of the jumper is the collar. For knitting, the collar loops are cast on along the edge loops of two blanks - the back and the front.
  9. You need to knit a 12-15 cm gate.

How to knit a pullover for a 4 year old child?

Knitting pullovers for a 4-year-old child is an interesting activity, because children at this age are already taking on the appearance of teenagers.

So, the work consists of the following successive stages:

  1. You will need medium weight red yarn. It is desirable that it contains equal amounts of wool and acrylic.
  2. The loops are being cast on. You can start knitting the back. The elastic band is knitted 1 by 1 5 cm. Next, knit according to the pattern: 1 loop with the face, then 1 with the wrong side and yarn over. The second row is 1 purl loop, and the one with the yarn over is knitted wrong side together. The result is a beautiful openwork pattern.
  3. The front part of the pullover is knitted similarly. For such small products there is no need to make a shoulder bevel.
  4. After the front and back of the pullover have been knitted, you can knit the sleeves. But before that, you need to make a shoulder seam along the wrong side of the future product. After this, loops for the sleeves are collected on each side. The seam after casting on the loops should be on the wrong side.
  5. The sleeves are knitted in the same pattern as the rest of the pieces. At the end of each sleeve there should be a 1 by 1 elastic band.

At the penultimate stage, all elements are sewn together. After this, you should frame the neck. For this you can use threads of a different color.

Sweater for a one-year-old baby

Such things are knitted very quickly, because a one-year-old baby is very small, therefore, the product will be small in size.

These things knit together very quickly

Master Class:

  1. Yarn of the same color is selected. The knitting method is garter. For such a small product, one semicircle should be knitted from 60 stitches.
  2. The first detail should be the back. Elastic is not done, since garter knitting allows the product to keep its shape well and not stretch.
  3. The front and back are knitted smoothly, without shoulder bevels.
  4. To close two blanks, you need to divide all the loops into 3 equal parts, then close the center - the neck, and close the other 2 parts, knitting them first 1 cm above the neck.

After the sleeves are knitted, the product can be sewn. It is important that the seams are on the wrong side.

Knitting a sweater for a 2-year-old boy: step-by-step instructions

This product is knitted in separate elements. You will need 2 colors of yarn, for example, you can choose black and white.

A sweater can be very beautiful, the true pride of a craftswoman

Instructions:

  1. Loops are cast on the knitting needle.
  2. The back and front of the sweater are knitted in the same way without knitting the armholes. Black and white stripes alternate.
  3. To make a beautiful collar on a sweater, you need to divide all the loops into working knitting needle into 3 equal parts. The central part is the neckline, it closes first, and the other 2 outer parts are the shoulders. They are knitted 1.5-2 cm above the neckline and are also closed.
  4. After the front and back have been stitched shoulder seam, you can start knitting the sleeves. There is a small elastic band at the end of each sleeve.
  5. You need to knit the sweater collar. To do this, after sewing the product along all the seams, you need to cast on loops from the neckline on circular knitting needles and knit 15 cm of fabric. The collar needs to be folded.

How to knit a raglan sweater?

Raglan is a top-down knitting technique.

A children's raglan sweater is made like this:

  1. Stitches are cast on onto circular knitting needles. The first 15 cm are knitted with even fabric. This is the collar of the sweater, which will then need to be folded.
  2. Now the knitting can be segmented. It is necessary to knit ½ front, raglan line, shoulder, raglan line, then back, raglan line, second shoulder, raglan line and ½ front.
  3. It is important not to lose the first few rows and knit strictly according to the pattern. Then the drawing will be clearly visible and it will be easier to work.
  4. After the product has been knitted to the armholes, you can knit the sleeves. The loops of one sleeve remain on the working knitting needles. You need to make an elastic band at the ends of the sleeves.
  5. After the sleeves are knitted, you can knit an even fabric in a circle.

The product is sewn along the edge loops of the front parts.

Every mother wants her child to wear beautiful, comfortable and at the same time unique things that can be knitted with their own hands. For example, any needlewoman can knit an excellent sweater for a child, focusing on diagrams and patterns.

A raglan sweater for a boy should be knitted from top to bottom, this is the peculiarity of this model. In addition, this model of sweater can be decorated with an interesting pattern, for example, Norwegian.

In order to knit this model, you will need 250 grams of blue yarn and 50 grams of beige and white flowers Based on the assumption that the child is about 3 years old and, of course, knitting needles No. 3 and 3.5.

To make a raglan, you need to knit 236 stitches in stockinette stitch in the circle, making marks in the places where the sleeve should align with the back and front elements. To make the sleeves beveled, you should reduce the number of loops to three before the first mark and knit two loops with a broach, then knit four knit loops. Around the remaining marks you need to decrease eight stitches in every second row.

When the height of the raglan reaches 5 cm, cast off 13 stitches to form the neckline and continue knitting in straight and reverse rows, while casting off two stitches in each row. When the height of the part reaches 40 cm, all the loops must be closed.

If the sweater model is intended for a boy who is 4 years old, you will need more yarn and more raglan stitches.
