Non-working holidays in the Russian Federation are:

January 1-6 and New Year holidays;
January 7 - Orthodox Christmas;
February 23 - Defender of the Fatherland Day;
March 8 - International Women's Day;

May 9 - Victory Day;
June 12 - Day of Russia;
November 4 - Day of National Unity.

As a rule, when Saturday or Sunday coincides with the holiday, the day off is transferred to the next working day following it. So, in Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Adygea, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia and Chechnya - in the regions where a large number of Muslims live, non-working holidays are:

Kurban Bairam, the holiday of the end of the Hajj in Mecca, is celebrated on the 10th day of the 12th month of the Zul Hijj according to the Islamic calendar (dates are shifted every year, because, unlike the Gregorian calendar, which counts the year according to the revolution of the Sun around the Earth, Islamic focused on the phases of the moon);

March 8: how do we relax?

Despite the fact that the holiday is international, it is not celebrated the same everywhere, and not everywhere it is a day off. In Russia, they rest on March 8, since the event has been included in the calendar as official since 1966.
